EARLY RISER – PUERTO RICAN STYLE COFFEE PORTER
In keeping with our love for sharing Puerto Rico’s culture through specialty coffee, we’ve teamed up with Boulevard Brewing Co, for a unique collaboration featuring Gustos Coffee from Yauco, PR in their “Early Riser” Coffee Porter series.
Seasonal Release
The Early Riser series launched back in 2016, previously featuring coffee from South America, yet this is the first time Boulevard brews a porter with specialty coffee from Puerto Rico, in true Puerto Rican style: smooth, refreshing and easy going – a perfect blend for celebrating the warm island weather.
Porter is a style of dark beer best known for it’s deep brown to black color. It was almost lost after Prohibition in the United States, but has since been revived by skilled craft brewers. Similar to the coffee roasting process, the roasting of malts and grains in beer, often impart chocolate and caramel flavors, lending to the overall balance, and flavor characteristics of the beer. Even though these dark beers are usually favored by some in the winter, the Early Riser was brewed for year-round enjoyment, any time of the day.
